Welcome to my little corner of the bush for the week! Today, I’m taking you on a tour of Kgotla Camp—our open-air camp right on the banks of the Motloutse River, where we’re truly in the heart of the wild. It’s all about the basics here, with single beds around a central campfire, open-air showers, and flushing loos for a bit of comfort. But the real adventure? Sleeping under the stars, with nothing but a log “Kgotla” enclosure and the sounds of Africa all around.

I’ll also give you a peek at where the horses stay overnight, and how they’re kept safe with some clever “lion netting” to protect them from the big cats roaming nearby. This is as close as it gets to a pure bush experience—and there’s something amazing about waking up in the open, surrounded by the magic of the African night.
